All schools in the Wakefield District have emergency arrangements.  If the school which your children attend is involved in a major emergency the school staff will care for the children until it is safe for you to collect them.                       

If you hear of an incident at your child’s school, do not automatically assume that it will be safe for you to collect them.  Tune into local radio or television or visit the Wakefield Council Emergency Planning pages - see 'Related Links' for further information.

Please note that it may take some time before advice will be available on Wakefield Council website however we will ensure that any information is posted as soon as possible.
