Joint Working Arrangements

The various organisations in West Yorkshire that respond to emergencies work very closely together, not just during emergencies, but also during the response planning stage.  Joint working has been a feature of emergency planning in West Yorkshire for the last 15 years and has now been made a statutory requirement under the Civil Contingencies Act.

There are a number of groups which have been established at county level, the “lead” organisation being indicated in brackets shown in the 'Joint Working Arrangments' diagram (see 'Downloads').

Regional Resilience Forum

The Regional Resilience Forum (RRF) is responsible for the coordination of emergency planning at regional level (West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and the Humber).

The RRF is “mirrored” at practitioner level by the Regional Multi-Agency Resilience Group.

The Forum has a number of working groups covering:-

  • the media
  • mass fatalities
  • chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN)
  • risk assessment
  • transport
  • utilities
  • health issues
