Dog wardens are here to enforce various laws regarding dogs, stray dogs, dangerous dogs and dog fouling to improve the environment and tackle anti-social behaviour.
We also here to promote responsible dog ownership by offering welfare advice and services including:
- Microchipping
- Neutering
- Issue fixed penalty notices for dog fouling offences
enforcing the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996
- Patrol the district seizing stray dogs under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 - Control of Dogs Order 1992.
- Return stray dogs, where identifiable and practical, to their owners or take them to appointed kennels.
- Seize any dangerous and out-of-control dogs in public places under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
