Environmental Health licenses the keeping of certain animals including:
- animal boarding (kennels and catteries)
- dog breeding
- riding establishments
- pet shops
- zoos (there are no zoos within the Wakefield District)
When applying for a licence the Council's Animal Health Inspector will inspect the premises to ensure animal health and welfare is protected. A fee is payable when applying for a licence.
