Report discarded syringes/needles using the Neighbourhood Action Form

The Council is responsible for keeping the area clean and free of litter. Please help us to respond quickly by providing as much of the folowing information as possible:-

  • The exact location of the needles or other drugs items
  • An estimate of the number of items
  • A brief description of what has been found
  • Are the needles near where children might play

What is the problem
Waste from drug use can be disturbing and a health hazard to the public. If you find used drug equipment, you must report this to Wakfield Council immediately. We will arrange for the removal and disposal of needles, syringes and other drug related items that are discarded.

We advise members of the public not to pick up needles, unless there is an immediate danger to you or other residents, especially children. Ideally, you should contact us and we will safely dispose of them.
