Dog fouling

Report Dog fouling...

  • Phone the Contact Centre on 0845 8 506 506 - 24-hours 7 days a week
  • Report dog fouling online using the Neighbourhood Action Form

Dog owners should clean up if their dog has fouled on someone else’s private property or in public places.

If you see fouling in these areas, report it to your local council. If possible, give details such as the name and address of the offender or, if not, a description of the owner and the dog.

Penalties

People who do not clean up after their dog can be given a £50 on-the-spot fine. If they refuse to pay the fine, they can be prosecuted and may face a court appearance with a maximum penalty of £1,000. Registered blind dog owners are exempt from penalties.
