Young Peoples Service FAQs

Q Q1. What age range does the Young People's Service cater for?
A The Young People's Service targets young people aged 13 to 19 years although there is some flexibility at the margins of these ages to accommodate friendship groups and specific needs.
Q Q2. Can I be a volunteer in the Young People's Service?
A
The Young People's Service welcomes offers of voluntary help from people aged 18 years and over who wish to share their skills and interests with young people.  All volunteers will need to meet the requirements of the Council's Child Protection Policy, which includes an enquiry to the Criminal Records Bureau. General enquiries about the opportunities available should be made to Neighbourhood Youth Work Manager, on 01226 392325.

Q Q3. Can you hire a youth centre?
A Youth Centres are available for hire when they are not in use by the Service.  The nature of the hire needs to be appropriate to the facilities and in keeping with the Services objectives.  Potential hirers should note that all the Centres are non-smoking establishments and the consumption of alcohol is not permitted.  For availability and charges please contact the Young People's Service on 01226 392317.
