Student finance - higher education

Please note: Since March 2011 Wakefield Council no longer administers student finance for any student in higher education.

Student Finance England administer applications and queries from both new and continuing students and all enquiries should be made directly to Student Finance England, by telephoning 0845 300 5090 or visit their website direct at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance.

Education Maintenance Allowance / 16-19 Bursary

Education Maintenance Allowance was stopped in January 2011.  Students who are already receiving it will continue to do so for this academic year. 

Schools, colleges and training providers have bursary funds to help you if you’re studying or starting a course and face financial hardship
