Teacher Testimonials

Please find below extracts of teacher testimonials from their visits to the Hornsea Centre:Hornsea Images

Leyburn C P School (June 2008)

Back for a third time and another great week.
Thanks to all staff to Shadow and Piet.

We've laughed, joked and giggled and conquered some fears.
Year six learned some new skills like tolerating their peers!

We leave in the morning and lived to tell the tale!
To all who will listen back home in Wensleydale.

Massive 'Thank you', once again, for a great experience.  The children gain so much from this week that they couldn't learn back in the classroom.  They will remember this week for the rest of their lives.

See you next year!

Carlton J & I School (14-18 January 2008)

"Thanks to you all for another wonderful week.  We will be back again soon."

Hornsea is the best!
Wild and wet,  fun in the dorm, sharing secrets arguments galore!
You could never describe it as a bore.
The children have been great and the staff even better - we have had a wonderful time.
Let's have a campaign to keep this centre open - our children learn so much about themselves and each other, there's  no place quite like it.
During our week we have discovered 2 new talents, children we can be really proud of.
The food was super.
Back to reality now.  I do hope the people who follow us enjoy it so much.

Thanks to Piet and all the staff.

Fitzwilliam Primary (21-25 January 2008)

"Had a great visit.  Enjoyed Eden Camp and Sea Life Centre.  Thanks to all staff on site, be back next year."

Gawthorpe Community Primary School (8-12 September 2008)

"Hands out in front, stand  by your bed!"
"You! did you hear what I said"
"A lady, a gentleman is how you behave,
It's not McDonalds and not a rave!"

"I will teach you respect, dignity and pride,
My name's Mr Dixon time to hide!"
Shadow my dog, companion and friend,
His company to you children I'll lend.

A poet, a gentleman a truly nice bloke,
Mr Dixon loved by us Gawthorpe  folk!

We would like to say a huge thank you for all the time and effort you put into our visits.  We all enjoyed our visit very much and hopefully see you next year.

Leyburn C P School (1-5 June 2009) Year 6

At school lit' and maths it should have been,
but we've learned more here through what we've done and seen.
We walked and walked until we dropped,
we  danced and partied  until we flopped.
Victorian children we became,
Mrs G nearly got the cane!
Her writing wasn't up to scratch,
her letter sizes didn't match.
Lots  to do and so much fun,
that Miss G's a scary one!
Then splashing around in the swimming pool,
and on to a barbeque which was really cool.
Now the week is nearly done,
thank you Hornsea, we've had so much fun!

A brilliant week which the children have loved, couldn't ask for any more.  Thanks for everything - see you next time!

Wakefield NUT and families (2-4 October 2009)

Another excellent visit to Hornsea - a bunch of new converts, we'll be back next May.  Especially liked the cheesy  chips and bananas.

We still think the chair's are mighty comfy!
