The Deep
The Deep is an educational and environmental charity presenting a wide range of exciting and innovative learning opportunities for schools. The Deep has won numerous awards including UK's Best Aquarium, Best Family Attraction and its education programme has been graded as excellent by the Department of Education.
The Deep's qualifield teachers have created a learning programme covering a broad range of subjects which provides carefully structured workshops, giving hands-on experience and raising awareness of the marine environment. All sessions are closely referenced to the National Curriculum.
All learning sessions are complemented by time to browse The Deep’s award-winning displays. Free teacher preview visits and fully downloadable resources are available. Educational groups also benefit from on-site coach parking and attractive discounted rates.
Hull Maritime Museum
Hull dominated the Arctic whaling trade in the early nineteenth century and there is an outstanding collection of whaling artefacts at the museum. These include skeletons of the whales themselves, the tools and weapons, as well as personalia, journals and logbooks.
