When will I receive my offer of a place?

Offers of places in Year 7 at a Secondary School are sent on the National Offer Date. This is 1st March (or next working day) each year.

Offers of places in Reception or Year 3 at a Primary or Junior School are sent on the Local Primary Offer Date. This is usually at the start of April each year. Click on the Primary ‘Guide for Parents’ in ‘Related Downloads’ for details of the coming year’s date.

All offers are sent by post on the relevant Offer Date and you may have to wait a few days for your offer to reach you. If you made your application online, you will be able to view the details of your offer online at any time after midnight on the relevant Offer Date, instead of having to wait for the post.

You will be offered a place at one school only.

In the Wakefield district, over 95% of children got a place at their first preference Secondary School – and over 94% at Primary School - for the school year starting in September 2010.
