Starting school, or moving into a junior school, is a big step for both children and parents - it is a time of change, choices and decisions.

All children born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006 are due to start full time education at an infant/primary school from September 2010. Children in year 2 of an infant school will also be due to move to a junior school.

All parents/carers need to apply for a primary or junior school place for their child.

You still need to apply to Wakefield even if your choice of school/s is within another Council.

You can apply for your child’s school place:

• Online or;
• Using the application form on the Admission to Schools page.

Where possible we suggest that you apply online. Many parents and carers find it easier and quicker to do this.
