Schools in Wakefield are undertaking statutory consultation on the proposed admissions policies for 2011/12, together with the respective admission numbers for the schools.
This consultation will take place for up to 8 weeks and will end on 29 January 2010.
The Government is currently undertaking consultation in relation to the points of entry to reception class. As a consequence, the admission arrangements for primary schools may need to be amended to reflect any changes to the School Admissions Code.
Community/Voluntary Controlled Schools
The Local Authority is the admissions authority for all Community/Voluntary Controlled schools in Wakefield. You can view the proposed admissions policy for these schools under Downloads, together with their proposed admission number.
Foundation (Trust) Schools
These schools are their own Admissions Authority and the Governing Body sets their admissions policy.
The respective Governing Bodies of The Aspire Trust schools (Horbury School and Wakefield City High school) and Education Ossett Community Trust schools (Dimplewell Infant School, Flushdyke J&I School, Towngate Primary School, South Ossett Infant School, Gawthorpe Community Primary School, and Ossett School) have agreed to adopt the LA’s admissions policy for Community/Voluntary Controlled schools under Downloads.

The Secretary of State is the Admissions Authority and the Governing Body sets its own admissions policy. Outwood Grange gained Academy status on 1 September 2009 and the admissions policy for Outwood Grange Academy can be obtained from the school.
