Walking routes - 1 hour

Ladies pushing a buggy at NewmillerdamIf you are looking for ideas of where to go walking in Wakefield, we offer a number of walking routes around the district to help you get active. 

These one hour walks are designed to encourage people to go out and walk, to improve their health at the same time as discovering the green and open spaces on their doorstep. 

Walking for at least 30 minutes a day for a minimum of  5 days a week can help: 

  • Make you feel good
  • Give you more energy
  • Help you to sleep better
  • Help you reduce stress
  • Keep your heart strong
  • Reduce blood pressure
  • Help manage your weight
  • Improve your life expectancy 

Each walk includes a map and photos to help you find your way.  You can download and print each of the walks via the links under 'Downloads'.
