This exhibition featured a real variety of 'things that go'!

They are all miniature versions of land, sea and air transport, mostly from 1950 onwards.

Some are toys made for playing with, and others are models for building or collecting.

Objects in the showcase included a Dinky hovercraft, a Hornby engine and lots of tin toys.

Activities

In the library there were jigsaws and games for children to play with.

Nursery children from Airedale Infant School came to the library to learn more about things that go and take part in activities based on Benedict Blathwayt’s book The Runaway Train.
