Rain and Shine

How do we feel when it’s sunny? What do we wear? Or put in our bags?

What things can we do in the sun that we’d rather not do in the rain?

The weather affects the way we feel, what we wear and what we do.

Everyone has an opinion on the weather and it’s often a popular topic of conversation, perhaps because we are so fascinated by it.

The objects in this exhibition included a pair of ice skates, a skiing doll and a woolly balaclava. Local children recorded the day’s weather on a chart, and completed weather puzzles.

Activities: Nursery children at Kinsley Primary and Fitzwilliam First schools learned about the weather and how it affects everybody’s life. They pretended to be trees, moving their arms like branches in the wind, and made cloud pictures.

Dates: Kinsley library, September 2004 – March 2005.
