Photography

Photography was invented in the middle of the 1800s.

By 1905 wealthy families began to own cameras, but most people only had their picture taken four or five times in their entire life, usually taken by a professional photographer.

Music

By 1905, the human voice and musical instruments could be recorded onto wax cylinders and discs. This was the first time that recordings of singers and orchestras could be heard in the home.
