The gallery contains a range of work by artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Anthony Caro, Ben Nicholson, LS Lowry and Henry Moore.

The gallery also has a changing programme of temporary exhibitions, available on the ground floor.

In 2010 the gallery will be moving to a new site on Wakefield’s waterfront.

The new gallery will be called The Hepworth Wakefield and will include an innovative programme of inspiring and creative exhibitions, arts, educational and lifelong learning events and activities.
