Visits to all our venues must be booked in advance.

Visits to Wakefield Museum, Wakefield Art Gallery, Sandal Castle, Pontefract Castle and Pontefract Museum must be booked through the Learning and Access Team. This will ensure that you and your class or group have:

• Exclusive access to the exhibitions at the site
• Access to advice and support from the Learning and Access Team
• Up to date information on exhibitions and events
• An opportunity to use the education room (if applicable)
• An opportunity to take part in led workshops
• Access to prepared teaching resources.

You will need to provide the following information:

• Date(s) of proposed visit(s)
• Name and contact details of school
• Number of students and leaders in the group
• Age or Key stage of the children (if applicable)
• If the group contains SEN
• Reason for your visit e.g. Romans
• Any special requirements e.g. disabled access
