Stall loans

We are happy to lend market stalls to other organisations within the boundaries of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council at our own discretion.

Occasionally, stalls may be also loaned to organisations outside of Wakefield Metropolitan District and on those occasions the organisations must collect and return the stalls themselves. No discount will be applied to the charges. 

Applying for a stall loan

To apply for a stall loan, please complete the application form (see 'Downloads') and return it to the Markets and Major Events team either by post or in person to Markets HQ, Pinders Lodge, Block D, Town Hall, Normanton, WF6 2DZ.

You will need to provide a plan of the proposed layout of the stalls for your event with your application.  Please ensure that the applications is submitted at least four weeks prior to the date of the event.

If you have any queries in relation to completing the form, please refer to the information sheet (see ‘Downloads’). Should you have any further concerns then do not hesitate to contact us.

Considering your application

There is no guarantee that the loan of a stall will always be possible. Stalls will not be loaned when they are required for speciality markets and other council events or when there are insufficient staff available to undertake delivery and collection. 

Written confirmation will follow if the stall loan is possible.

Fee

The fee for stall loans will vary dependant upon the number of stalls required for loan. Please refer to the guidance notes for details of the fees.
