We are once again hosting a series of Victorian Christmas Markets across the district to celebrate the festive season.
We are always keen to hear from people who wish to trade at our Christmas Markets. We try to maintain a variety of stalls to ensure a successful event and would particularly welcome applications from traders selling Christmas themed goods. So get into the festive spirit and and book your stall now. There are still stalls available, so get your application in quick.
To ensure our Christmas markets are a success, we ask all traders to wear Victorian costume and decorate their stalls so our shoppers can enjoy a truly festive atmosphere.
Stalls
Demountable stalls measuring 10 x 4 ft stalls will be used for the events. Stall sheets and clips will be provided and traders attending the markets in Wakefield and Castleford will be required to pay a deposit of £25 which will be returned at the end of the event.

If you are interested in applying for a stall, all traders are required to complete and return the following documents:
Application form
Complete and sign the application form.
Public Liability Insurance
It is mandatory for all traders at our markets to have Public Liability Insurance cover for a minimum of £5M. Please enclose a copy of your insurance certificate with your completed application.
Trader Agreement
Read and complete the attached trader agreement. Failure to comply with the conditions of the agreement may result in you forfeiting your right to trade on Wakefield Council’s markets.

Photographs
Include photographs of the produce and goods you wish to sell
Traders selling food
All traders selling food are required to be registered with their Local Authority’s Environmental Health Department. Please include evidence of your registration with your application form.
The completed documents should be returned with the cheque for your payment to Markets and Major Events, Room 27, Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield, WF1 2HQ.
