Wakefield Libraries and Information Services

Your local library is just a stones throw away and has a wealth of free resources available to its users. Long gone are the days of shush and silence.

2008 is the National Year of Reading and libraries are having a year long celebration with events and activities all over the district.

Watch out for our new limited edition of eco friendly jute bags. These are for sale in all our branches for £2 but some lucky people will be able to walk away with one for free, simply by joining the library and borrowing books.  Call into your local library to find out how.

This is your opportunity to not only do your bit towards saving the planet, but also to enjoy and explore your library.
