Wakefield One is the Council’s new civic office building in the heart of the city centre’s Merchant Gate development.
Work on the exciting new facility began in August 2010 and is due for completion in spring 2012. Accommodation will begin in summer with the building due to open to the public in autumn 2012.
The building will house over 1000 office workers in the upper three floors, whilst the lower ground and upper ground floors will provide public services in the shape of a customer service centre, library and museum. Plans are also in place for a public café.
