Free Internet Access

The peoples network project has allowed us to network all 28 libraries across the Wakefield District, and provide a free internet service together with other software options e.g. word processing. This is part of the Government's commitment to give everyone within the community the opportunity to use computers and access the internet.

Libraries, including the mobile library, can now offer you the following services:-

  • internet and email facilities
  • community information
  • government/council information
  • lifelong-learning opportunities
  • a range of office software applications

You will be able to surf the net, and scan documents or images.

The benefits will include:-

  • find out what's going on in your area
  • use email to contact family or friends
  • research your family history
  • plan a holiday
  • support your studies in school or college
Visit your local library for more information (see 'Related Links').
