Environment Information Service
The Environment Information Service aims to provide the people of Wakefield with information on how they can do their bit to help the environment. The centre aims to act as a signpost to information on various green issues - from environmentally friendly shopping and domestic issues to business legislation and Council services
The information service is available to:-
- Residents of Wakefield District
- Young people
- Schools
- Community groups
- Employers and businesses in the Wakefield area
Resources held
- Resource files across a range of green issues are available. The files contain examples of library books, leaflets, organisations, government publications and useful websites (some useful websites are also listed under 'Related Links').
- Magazines covering a variety of environmental topics are held at libraries across the district. Please follow the 'Environment Magazine List' link under 'Also In'.
- A wide range of books are available from libraries across the district to help you lead a greener life. Follow the link to Libraries Online to browse the catalogue and see what is available.
- Lists of recommended environment-related websites. Please follow link under 'Downloads'
- Free leaflets available on a range of topics (under 'Also In')
- Every branch library holds a Community Information file relating to Environment issues. This includes leaflets and booklets available for reference (under 'Also In').
