Learn a new language - Transparent Language Online

Transparent Language Online logoHave you ever wanted to learn a new language?  Transparent Language Online language learning courses are now available free to members of Wakefield libraries.

Transparent Language Online is a powerful language learning system that uses flashcards to teach you a set of words or phrases. It is the fastest possible way to lock foreign words and phrases in your long term memory.

You can choose from over 80 languages plus 16 courses to learn English from other languages.

How do I set up an account? 

Visit any Wakefield library to set up your Transparent Language Online account. You will need to create a username and password in order to access the site again from home or with a mobile device.

Using Transparent Language Online

Once you have registered, you can use it from home or with a mobile device via the following link Transparent Language Online Wakefield Libraries. The next time you use Transparent Language Online you will need to enter your User Name and Password and then click Login.

With a Transparent Language Online account, you can also continue language learning whenever or wherever it's convenient. You can access your account from your home computer or on the move with the Transparent Language Online mobile app. The App is available free on the App Store for Apple® iPad™, iPhone® or iPod® touch or for Android power devices.

Please note: this system requires I.E 7, Firefox 3.5, Safari 3.1.2 or Google Chrome and Adobe Flash Player 10.0.0.

What is Transparent Language Online ?

Transparent Language Online takes users through a series of simple steps to memorise words and phrases in a new language, including their meanings and correct pronunciation.

In addition to Transparent Language Online's advanced learning tools, users will have access to an array of online language and cultural resources including one-click access to Facebook and Twitter language communities as well as Transparent Language Online language blogs which feature a collection of articles covering the language and the culture that surrounds it.
