It's free to join the library!
The staff at all Wakefield Libraries offer a warm welcome to everyone.
If you want information about any of our services, or you require help in any way, please ask the staff - we're here to help.
It's easy to join…
There are two ways to join the library:
- Bring one form of identification into the library. Either proof of your name and current address or one showing proof of your signature e.g: bank books/cards, driving license, local authority rent book or allowance book.
- Join the library online. If you register to join the library online you will receive a temporary borrower number and PIN. You can start reserving items straightaway from the online catalogue but will not be able to borrow items until you have provided proof of your address at your designated library.
If you are under 16 there are three ways to join...
- On your own in a library: you can join the library on your own to borrow children’s books or to use a computer.
- With a parent or carer: they will need to bring one form of identification into the library.
- Join the library online: you need to have your parents/carers permission to register to join the library online. If your parents/carer are a member of the library then you will need to enter their borrower number when prompted. If they are not a member then you will need to enter your parents/carers contact details (e.g.: full name and a permanent address)
To join online follow the link to Libraries Online in the right-hand column.
In signing your library card you are agreeing to abide by the rules and byelaws of Wakefield Libraries & Information Services and Computer usage policies (copies are available at all libraries). In return we will offer a level of service outlined in our Customer Care Standards.
