The eagerly awaited all new Wakefield Skate Park has now arrived...

Located near the Thornes Park athletics track the Skate Park has been created for use by skateboarders, BMXers and inline skaters and was designed, in consultation with Skate Wakefield, by a pro boarder from Gravity Engineering Ltd.

It is a bespoke structure which was created using the latest spray concrete technology and is one of the largest of its kind in the UK. It also contains a number of features which are unique to the site and cannot be found anywhere else in the country.The skate park has already been earmarked as a venue for skate and BMX tours, demos and competitions

Wakefield Skate Park is:

• A free and open access facility which means that it is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
• There is no lighting within the park to discourage use throughout the night.
• The new facility has been designed so both experienced and novice skaters can use it.
• Each area contains features for beginners as well as ones to challenge the more experienced.
