Children's Admission to Swimming Pools Policy

  1. Boy with goggles on and holding a bucketChildren under the age of 8 years will not be admitted to the swimming pool unless accompanied in the water at all times by a responsible person of 16 years of age or over.

  2. Any person with such responsibility must not have in his or her charge more than 2 children under the age of 8 years.

  3. Children under the age of 5 years should ideally be accompanied on a 1:1 basis regardless of swimming ability.

  4. Children who cannot swim well should remain in shallow water i.e. 1.2m (4ft) or less, at all times.

  5. Parents and adults are responsible for children in their care at all times.

We ask all swimmers to abide by both the children's admission to swimming pools policy and swimmers code of conduct
