Early plans for a multi-million pound pool and fitness centre in Wakefield have been unveiled by the Council.
The new centre is set to include:
- an eight lane 25m pool
- a 13m by 7m learner pool
- a 130 station fitness suite
- a multi-use activity studio
- a health suite with spa bath, steam room and sauna
- 200 capacity spectator viewing area and public café
The two-storey, glass-entranced building, which will be built on the former Sun Lane bath’s site in the city centre, will have moveable floors in both pools to provide flexibility in its uses so that all sectors of the community can access and benefit from this state-of-the-art facility.
The new facility will help the Council achieve its vision for Healthier Communities, and Safer and Stronger Communities by providing access to quality facilities that enable local people to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
