What is an Activate card ?
Activate is a leisure card scheme offering discounts on a range of sporting activities.
Stay fit, have fun and save money with an Activate card!
Who can use Activate and what does it cost ?
Category I: If you receive any of the benefits listed below, Activate cards are free of charge. Students 16+ in full time education can receive a card free of charge.
Category II: If you are a Wakefield resident and you are retired aged 60+,then Activate cards will cost £6.00.
How do I apply for an Activate card ?
Activate cards are available "on the spot" from any Wakefield Council Sports Centre or Swimming Pool.
What will I need to take when I apply for Activate ?
1) A completed application form available from all centres
2) A passport size photograph with you name on the back (This applies to adults only)
3) Proof of eligibility (see list below)
4) Where necessary, the appropriate fee.

- Income Support - Notification letter or current allowance book I
- Disability Living Allowance - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Job Seekers Allowance - Completed (stamped & signed) ES40 Booklet or Jobseekers confirmation slip.
- Working Family Tax Credit - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Incapacity Benefit - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Housing Benefit - Recent Housing Benefit award or notification letter.
- Severe Disablement - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Council Tax - Main Rebate Confirmation letter.
- Mobility Allowance - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Invalid Care Allowance - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Attendance Allowance - Notification letter or current allowance book.
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit - Confirmation letter.
- Student (16+) - Student Identification Card.
- Registered Blind - Registration Card or Bus Pass.
- Registered Deaf - Registration Card or Confirmation letter.
- Pensioner 60+ - Birth certificate, Driving Licence, Bus Pass or Passport.
