Station Lane Early 1900s

This photograph of Station Lane, originally known as Station Road, was taken in the early 1900s before the Hippodrome was built - note the gap between the buildings on the left, one of which is Leatham's Bank.

Although 'retouched' in a number of places (perhaps, the reason why Post Office Road seems to have disappeared !) this is a fascinating view  which has caught a train just entering or leaving the station.
