What’s happening down your way……(Updated October 2011)

This section gives examples of some of the work recently undertaken by the Public Rights of Way Team’s practical works team to maintain and improve the path network across the district.

Throughout the summer months nearly all of this team’s time is taken with cutting vegetation on paths. Through the winter months however we undertake a range of tasks including surfacing paths, installing stiles gates, bridges and signposts. Most of our work is focussed but not limited to improving rural paths.

Is there a footpath you feel is out of repair or that could be improved?

If so we would be happy to hear about it. Paths across the district are periodically surveyed by members of the Rights of Way Team, however by far the best source of information on the condition of the network is often from the people who regularly walk the paths.
