The Town Hall is in the historic town of Pontefract in the Wakefield District. It can be reached easily by car and bus and because of the town hall's central location there is good parking nearby.  

There are two main function rooms:-

• the Assembly Room and
• the Nelson Room.  

There is a small, cosy bar which serves both rooms.  

The Assembly Room is the largest hall and is currently used for concerts, shows, craft fairs and flea markets. Its seating capacity for a concert is 300. For a party or dance the capacity goes down to 200.  

The Nelson Room features the original plaster cast used to mould Nelsons column. The Frieze dominates the room and makes it a spectacular place to hold a wedding reception or meeting space. It can hold up to 100 people.
