Ossett Town Hall - Background

The Town hall in Ossett was built in 1905 from public donations and is now a Grade II listed building.

It served as a Magistrates court until 1974. The Courthouse still retains the original viewing gallery, the magistrates bench and the dock have unfortunately been removed!

The focal point of Ossett Town centre is the clock tower which houses the original Potts clock donated in memory of a former mayor Mr J Ward, by his daughters. The clock is still wound daily by the staff at the hall.
