Find out what our new building can offer
The building is situated on Burton Street, behind the Council's County Hall building.
Wakefield One provides one point of contact for a range of Council services which are brought together under one roof.
The building is being paid for by vacating and selling other Council buildings and will reduce overall running costs by £1m a year. So you will be getting an improved service which costs less.
Services will include a customer access point, library, museum, business lounge and cafe.

The library will offer an exciting mix of recreational and educational resources including children's and young person's area, a superb range of books and computer facilities.
The Business Lounge offers a ‘one stop shop’ facility for queries and questions from businesses, inward investors and those considering starting up in business, around the range of support the Council and its partners can offer.
The new café in Wakefield One has a coffee bar and a café area run by Create. If you fancy a meal, coffee, or a sandwich, then give it a try.
- see 'Related Downloads' for copies of the cafe menus
The cafe is open:
- Monday to Friday: 8.15am - 5pm
- Saturday: 10am - 4:30pm
The coffee bar is a self-service, eat-in or take-out area offering a range of snacks and drinks, including hot specials all week. All of our ingredients are locally sourced to support the local economy. There are offers such as the meal deal and breakfast offer to help you stretch your money as far as possible.
The Café area is a table served area offering slightly more substantial options than the coffee bar. Here there is a range of food from the grill as well as sandwiches, specials, salads and cakes that we sell to take out.
Available on both sides there is an excellent salad bar containing the usual suspects as well as some slightly more exotic salad bar items.
Create have run a number of highly regarded cafes and restaurants, and pride themselves on their food and service. Some of you may know this already if you visited their restaurant in Leeds. What you might not know is that Create is also an award winning social enterprise too.
They develop innovative training and create jobs for people who have been homeless, marginalised or vulnerable. They offer a future to people who want a hand up, not a handout.
Every penny they make goes into training opportunities, work experience and jobs that make a real difference to people’s lives.
