Wakefield Council Pride Awards 2012

No descriptionIt’s that time of year again! We are asking you if you know great Council workers who provide a service to you.  Maybe you know about the excellent community and charity work done by Council employees in their spare time.

These are very challenging times for the Council – to deliver services to citizens with a significantly reduced budget.  However, our priority will always be to provide quality services to you.  Therefore, we want to continue to recognise the commitment of staff who do their very best for our residents in these difficult times.

The Pride Awards are the Council’s way of saying thank you to our employees who go the extra mile to provide an excellent service to you.  If you know a team or individual who provides a great service and really makes a difference, please let us know.

Help us celebrate the first class service given to you by employees of Wakefield Council, or the community and charity work they do in their own time, by nominating them for the People’s Choice Award in Wakefield Council’s Pride Awards ceremony 2012.

To make a nomination, tell us in no more than 500 words, why the individual or team of your choice deserves this award.  You can nominate by completing either:

  • the online nomination form
  • the Word version of the nomination found in Downloads
  • or by picking up a nomination form from the public Council buildings including libraries and sports centres.
  • writing to Pride Awards, FREEPOST NEA5394, Room 8, Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield WF1 2BR

The closing date for nominations has been extended to Friday 24 February 2012, giving you more time to make your nomination.

You will also have the chance to vote for the winner of the People’s Choice Award from the shortlisted candidates.  Look out for more information about this nearer the time.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on Friday 18 May 2012.

The Pride Awards is solely funded by sponsorship from organisations and partners and covers all the costs of the event.

If you would like more information, please contact the Wakefield Council Contact Centre on 0845 8 506 506 or email prideawards@wakefield.gov.uk
