Town and Parish Charter
Many local Authorities have developed a Charter to acknowledge the joint working relationship between the two tiers of local government. Its purpose is to highlight how a principal local authority and town and parish councils will work in partnership. It covers the relationship between the principal local authority and town and parish councils and gives details of general working practices for achieving improved partnership working, the process of preparing and implementing community strategies, information flow and dialogue between the two tiers of local government.
The Town and Parish Council Liaison Group have developed such a Charter which was approved by Cabinet Committee on Tuesday, 12 April 2011.
