Code of Conduct

The Local Government Act 2000 and associated Regulations, requires all principal councils and town and parish councils to adopt  a Model Code of Conduct, (click on the 'Code of Conduct' link below to see a copy of the Code of Conduct adopted by Wakefield  Council) which sets out rules for how its Members and Co-opted Members should behave.

Under the Code all Members and Co-opted Members have to register any Interests they have. Those interests cover both financial and other interests.

The Register of Interests for Wakefield Council together with Registers relating to Town/Parish Councils within the District are available for public inspection between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and Fridays between 8.30am and 4.30pm at the Main Reception, Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield.
