Citizen Voice (Text Messaging Service)
Citizen Voice is a text messaging service which offers you the chance to have your say on local issues. It offers a quick and easy way of telling us your views. Text messaging is not just a one way service however, you can also receive text message updates from us direct to your mobile phone.
How To Subscribe
To join Citizen Voice and sign up for text updates all you need to do is complete the simple online form or download the sign up form under 'Related Links'. When you sign up you will be given the choice of receiving consultation votes, text updates or both.
What does it involve?
If you sign up to receive consultation votes we will contact you around once a month to ask for your views on a variety of local issues. You can see the results of previous consultation votes by clicking on ‘Your views’ in ‘Related Links’.
If you sign up to receive text updates you will gain the benefit of up to date information on news, events, initiatives and changes to services straight to your mobile phone. Once signed up you will begin receiving updates at no charge to yourself and can stop at any time.
Reporting issues via text message
You can also currently report Highways issues via text message by texting ‘report’ to 80010 followed by the location and nature of the incident. So you can report potholes, broken pavements, obstructions, hazards, damaged/missing street furniture, damaged walls/fences/barriers and much more while you are on the move. You will receive a free confirmation text and can follow up on the progress of your report by contacting the contact centre on 0845 8 506 506.

Texts sent to the Council are charged at your standard network rate. We do not receive any income from text messages received. You will not be charged for text messages you receive from the Council.

To stop receiving messages from the Council please text the word 'remove' to 80010
