Councillor Darran Travis was first elected as a Councillor in May 2000. He is employed as a maintenance engineer at Townville Bakeries in Castleford. Darran is married to Yvonne, they have two children - Lauren and Rachel.
Darran is also a convenor for the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers, Chair of Governors at Three Lane Ends Primary School, and Honorary President of Cystic Fibrosis Support Group. He is also a junior football referee in the Charles Rice League, a member of the West Yorkshire Fire Authority and the Humberside Regional Management Board.
Darran's hobbies include rambling. He has completed the Three Peaks on a number of occasions and has also climbed Ben Nevis.
His wife Yvonne is an Insurance advisor at Heath Lambert Group Ltd in Wakefield. She is a keen gardener and manager of their daughter Rachel's rock band.
