John was elected as the Councillor for Horbury & South Ossett in May 2006.
Born and raised in Stockton-on-Tees. In 1996 he moved to Sheffield to attend University, the main area of study was Politics and Economics.
Since leaving University in 2000 John has worked for a national Plumbers' Merchant, moving from trainee to Branch Manager. After successfully managing branches in Mexborough, Wakefield and Leeds, he decided to continue his studies.
John is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Sheffield.
After 8 years living in Sheffield he moved to Horbury in 2004. It was then John started to get interested in local politics and local issues.
Socially enjoys watching all sports: rugby league, football, cricket and speedway. He also plays rugby league on a weekend for Hoyland Vikings 'A' team.
John would put his greatest achievement to date as trekking the Grand Canyon for the National Children’s Home (NCH) in 2006, raising £4,000.
