David, born in Pontefract, educated at Pontefract Boys Secondary School and Whitwood Mining and Technical College where he gained AMEME Honours in Mechanical Engineering.

David and his wife Christine have lived in Normanton since 1975.  They have two children and four grandchildren.

He had a successful career in the mining industry and private sector in engineering, sales, and contracting, whilst at the same time being an active member of The Labour Party and Normanton Town Council.

David enjoys playing golf and is a member of Pontefract and District Golf Club.

* Please note there will be no Surgeries held at Normanton Common Primary School during school holidays.

Access to Surgery Venues is as follows:

  • Normanton Common Primary School has full disabled access, plus car parking.
  • Alice Bacon Centre is held on the ground floor and has level access, a disabled toilet, plus car parking.

Home visits are available on request.
