If the mother and father were married to each other at the time of the baby's birth either parent may register the birth.

If the parents were not married to each other at the time of the birth the father's details can only be entered into the register if he attends at the Registration Office with baby's mum.  For further details please contact the Registration Office.

Registering a birth is free.

A free short birth certificate showing baby's name and date of birth together  with a form for the Doctor will be issued.

Further certificates, short as above or full with parents details are available at £3.50 each.
