Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Wakefield Council Asylum Team
The Team helps house a number of asylum seekers dispersed to the district. Additionally it supports unaccompanied asylum seeker children who have made their way to Wakefield unofficially.
Refugee Access
Refugee Access is a multilingual website for asylum seekers, refugees and agencies working with them in the Yorkshire and Humberside area. Visit the site for: an events diary, jobs listings and a directory of agencies in the region. You'll also find information on legal issues, education, housing, funding and using IT.
RASA Advocacy
RASA is a Wakefield based advocacy project specifically aimed at refugees and asylum seekers. They can help you understand legal matters, settle into a community, and appreciate the social benefits of resettlement in the Wakefield District.
