Carr Lodge Mansion, Horbury
The Council is offering Carr lodge Mansion, Horbury for sale. The property is grade II listed and was built between 1770 and 1775. It has an internal floor area of approximately 600m² at basement, ground, first and second floor level. There is potential suitability for a number of uses, subject to planning approval.
Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves regarding the condition of the building prior to submitting an offer. A briefing note providing informal planning and highway advice has been prepared.
Offers are invited for the acquisition of the building, plus a limited amount of parkland where necessary, for appropriate uses which would fit in with the parkland setting.
The council received a petition on 16 July objecting to the disposal of Public Open Space at Carr Lodge Park. Following full consideration of all the issues raised, the decision was taken that the proposed disposal was in the bests interests of the council and the community.
