The Health and Safety Section helps to build a strong local economy by providing advice and guidance to local businesses. Its aim is to reduce risks by support and guidance but where necessary via law enforcement.

This is achieved by:-

• making advice visits
• undertaking routine workplace inspections
• accident investigations
• complaint investigations
• Sunday trading law enforcement
• statutory notifications
• publicity campaigns in relation to all workplaces within the district which are allocated to the Wakefield Council for enforcement
