British Council of Disabled People
The British Council of Disabled People (BCODP) was set up by disabled people in 1981 to promote our full equality and participation within society.
Contact A Family
Every day over sixty children in the UK are born or diagnosed with a serious disability and the vast majority of them are cared for at home. Contact a Family is the only UK charity providing support and advice to parents whatever the medical condition of their child.

disability.gov.uk is a UK government website that was set up specifically to help you find out about your rights as a disabled person, and to learn more about the legislation that exists to help establish fully comprehensive and enforceable civil rights for disabled people in the UK. The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) is an independent body set up by the Government to help secure civil rights for disabled people. This is now part of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Shopmobility
Shopmobility is a scheme which lends manual and powered wheelchairs and powered scooters to member of the public with limited mobility, to shop and use the leisure and commercial facilities of the town, city centre or shopping centre.
