2011 Census: Sunday 27 March 2011

Help tomorrow take shapeNo description

Every ten years the Office of National Statistics (ONS) carries out a census to find out more about the people who live in England and Wales and about the make-up of local neighbourhoods. The census asks about work, health, national identity, citizenship, ethnic background, education, second homes, language, religion, marital status etc. These statistics are then used to build a picture of today’s society.

What do I need to do?

You can complete your questionnaire online at www.census.gov.uk (your paper questionnaire contains your unique access code, so don't throw it away!) or you can fill in the paper questionnaire by hand, sign the declaration on the front and post it back in the prepaid envelope provided.

If you are unsure about anything, haven't received your questionnaire or have difficulty completing your questionnaire please see the 'contact census' link below.

Census collectors started on the 6th April 2011 and will be visiting you if you haven't returned your questionnaire.  They will visit your home to answer questions and help you fill it in.  Remember, you are required by law to complete the census.

Please note: Wakefield Council do not hold spare 2011 Census questionnaires for distribution or have access to the unique access codes.

The census needs everyone to take part in helping tomorrow take shape, and this is your chance to make a difference.
