2011 Census jobs

Jobs that benefit you and your local area

Every ten years, we hold a census in England and Wales which gives decision-makers a clear picture of the communities their decisions will affect.

2011 is set to be the biggest one yet. This project could deliver real benefits to you and your local area. If you can spare a bit of time to get out into the community and help us gather the information we need, we’ll make it worth your while.

Around 35,000 census field staff will be recruited across England and Wales. Recruitment has already been completed for Address Checkers, Address Checker Co-ordinators, Area Managers and Community Advisors. The drive continues into autumn with 2011 Census Questionnaire Collectors, Census Compliance staff and Census Coverage Survey Teams. The recruitment campaign will run through to mid-2011.

2011 Census staff will be employed directly by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), with ONS contractor Capita running recruitment, training and payroll services.

If you’re interested in working for the 2011 Census, you can apply for current jobs online and register your interest in other roles by clicking on www.censusjobs.co.uk (see 'Related Links').

Note:  If you get a certificate warning message when trying to access the Census website click ‘yes’ at the two prompts and then the site will open.
